Grilled Salmon

Ingredients

  • 1 Salmon Fillet cut into 3-4 ounce portions
  • 1 tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • BBQ Rub (optional) in place of salt and pepper

Instructions

  • Heat your grill to a medium-high heat, 350-400°F (176-204°C).
  • While the grill is heating up, place the salmon fillet onto a cutting board. Cut into 3-4 ounce pieces.
  • Lightly oil each piece and season with your favorite seasoning.
  • Once the grill is to temperature, oil the grates where you will be placing the salmon. Place the salmon on the oiled grate skin side down.
  • Let the salmon cook for about 8 minutes or until it flakes easily with a fork. When it is cooked through, remove from the grill and serve immediately.

Notes

If you are using frozen pre-portioned pieces of salmon there is no need to cut them down further. Let them thaw completely then season per the instructions.
If your salmon doesn't have skin on it, don't worry. Simply season and cook just like you would if it did have the skin.
Use pecan wood chunks or chips to give your salmon a delicious smoky flavor.
Only cook the salmon until it flakes easily with a fork. Overcooking can cause it to be come dry.
Cut your salmon into individual portions before putting on the grill. This will make it easier to get on and off the grill along with helping it cook evenly.
